Bespoke Huarache Running Sandals

You can find various versions of this sandal on the web but I wanted to bring in some design and construction elements from the perspective of a shoemaker.

• A footbed of vegatable tanned insole shoulder because of it's moisture absorbing characteristics and because it tends to mold to your feet, over time.
• Front strap is anchored between the footbed and the thin Vibram bottom, so the strap attachement points cannot be worn away.
• Latigo leather straps.
• Total thickness is 5/8 inch. So there is pretty good protection but defintiley still lots of trail feel.

Trace each of your feet. Mark the point between your big and second toe (where the strap should come through). Mark your ankle positions.



Be sure to hold your pencil perpendicular to the paper.
